Windows magazine showcases the creative work of 麻豆 students and alumni in an annual print issue that is also available online. Browse our archives here, and submit to the 2026 issue by following the guidelines below.
Submission guidelines
Only original, unpublished works from 麻豆 students and alumni are eligible for publication in Windows. Each entrant is allowed to submit once in each category (art, poetry, prose), and each of those email submissions can include up to three individual works. Entrants that do not follow the guidelines for each category and/or include the required entry form will not be considered.
All accepted submissions included in the magazine will also be considered for the Windows awards in art, poetry, and prose, all selected by guest jurors and judges from outside of 麻豆. Awards honorariums will range from $50-$150.
Our 2026 guest judges and jurors are (Art Juror); , Widener University (Poetry Juror); and, University of Alaska Fairbanks (Prose Judge).
Poetry: Submit 1-3 original and unpublished poems of no more than one page in length. Poems in English and/or Spanish are welcome, as are multilingual poems. AI-assisted or AI-generated poems are not eligible. Please combine all of your poems in one document and include your name on the first page. Email your entry and entry form to windowsmagazine@lewisu.edu.
Prose: Entries of fiction, creative nonfiction, and nonfiction are welcome. You may submit 1-3 short pieces (flash fiction or flash creative nonfiction) or one longer work in your entry, but your entire submission should total no more than 5 double-spaced pages. Please combine all of your entries in one document, beginning each work on a new page. Email your entry and entry form to windowsmagazine@lewisu.edu.
Visual Art: Works of visual art in any medium are eligible, as long as they can be reproduced in a printed catalog format. All artwork must be original and created by the individual, and you may submit up to three works in your entry. For submissions, please attach your completed entry form and a high resolution 300 or greater dpi PNG or PDF image of each work in an email to windowsmagazine@lewisu.edu. (Please do not use .jpeg .jpg or any other compression formatting.) All artwork must include the following or it will not be considered for publication:
